Am I a Lifelong Learner?

I never really thought about it before, but after viewing the video "7 1/2 Habits of Lifelong Learners", I believe that, YES, I am a lifelong learner. I'm not ever really satisfied unless I am learning, teaching, or mentoring. The easiest of the habits for me is #1, "Begin with the End in Mind." I never begin any project without thinking of the end result. My dream is to teach Special Education. With that end in mind, I began the MAT program last semester. The most difficult habit for me is #5, "Create a Learning Toolbox". Because I have spent the last 15 years of my life in retail sales and management, I have not created a very good learning toolbox for education. That is my goal this semester!

  1. Being in retail sales for the last 14 years as well, I can relate to your situation. I, too, am not satisfied unless I am learning something. Having a positive impact on a student's life will be so rewarding and I can't wait!! Good luck on your continuing education!

  2. I think beginning with the end in mind is pretty much almost the only way to do things. There are times to be spontaneous, but it's usually more practical to have a goal.
